Constipation with Tykerb/Xeloda

I started T/X on Monday, March 29th.Every night since I have had to use an enema to move my bowels. Has anyone else experienced this??? If so what are some other laxative options?

Thanks,
Charnel

Re: Constipation with Tykerb/Xeloda

Chanrnel,

I hope the constipation problem has been resolved. There's a 'fiber' supplement called 'citrucel' that's quite effective for bowel problems without causing excess gas. A 'GI' doctor recommended it along with yogurt. Yogurt provides the good bacteria needed for digestion. Many of the bacteria in our digestive tracts are destroyed by the chemo, thus causing digestive problems.

There's a xeloda side effect thread you can retrieve by using the 'Search' window on top of the Board.

Here's a link that contains information on Tykerb:

I hope all the issues you are experiencing will be resolved soon.
