I am new to this site also, you are such an inspiration to me. I/ve just been diagnosed in March of this year with infiltrating ductal carcinoma. 5.5cm left breast, I had a bilateral masectomy with 8/18 lymphnodes positive. ER+, pr+, her2nu+. Right now Im on my5 out of 6 chemo treatments. Then theres 25 rads. Oncs are saying 5 years chemo and herceptin. I also have a 2 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. I plan on beating this and being cured to see them grow into adults but at times its really tough and scary. So far all my tests, bone scans, muga scans, ultrasounds, cat scans have all come back clean. I find watching my kids sleep the hardest, wondering what life has in store for them. But I keep telling myself that I can beat this and everyday they are coming up with something new for cancer. How can someone at 40 years old, just starting a family end up with this disease? Im going to adopt your attitude and beat the odds also. Thanks for the inspiration.
Dawn

I can relate to what you are going through. You are brave and positive and that is what it takes. I have a daughter that just turned 22 and she has a 13 moth old liittle boy. She was diagnose in July 2010 with breast cancer and yes it is estrogen, progestron and her2 positive. It had already sprread to her lymphnodes. She has been undergoing chemo since sept 10 and was taken off due to heart damage to her heart and they just put her back on chemo 2 weeks ago. She has 2 treatments left of the fec and then she will go back on the hercip. She has had a hard road and still has a long way to go with surgery of both breast, radation for 6 weeks and them reconstructive surgery. But I can say that that little boy is what makes her fight. She tells me mom failure is not an option for me. I have promised to be with her every step and I will. We never know why these things happen but with the trust and faith in GOD you and she will get through this. GOD bless you for helping to spread the messages.

Dear Dawn,

It breaks my heart to see another young woman diagnosed with this disease. Please know that you are not alone - there are many young
moms out there (have you checked the Young Survival Coalition web site? It's a great resource.

You can see at my signature below that I had a locally advanced tumor and I'm now fine. I have 3 kids, ages 8, 6, and 4. Never in my lifetime I thought I'd go through this. But here I am, braving this new frontier of survivorship.

Please feel free to come here often for
support and PM me anytime.

Best of luck to you during your treatment phase,

Marcia
