Yes, happy new year everyone. Wow SoCal gal! what a journey! I lived in LaLa land (Laurel Canyon) for many years and loved it there. Maybe this will be the year for a cure.

Happy New Year & Peace on Earth!
Sister-in-law cooked black-eyed peas and corn bread to go with baked pork chop. Father-in-law has been doing well after surgery for a ruptured colon/ileum. (Now we are all experts at handling his ostomy bag.) He should have an exchange surgery in late January after talking to the doctor on 1-13.) In late February he will celebrate his 92nd birthday. Chinese New Year falls on 2-19 this year. I'll be ready for another big/long celebration then. (Just like the twelve days of Christmas ends on Epiphany, Chinese New Year lasts 15 days till the Lantern Festival/parade.) |
Re: Hny & poe
Wow, Jackie, you are once again caregiving.
If we throw in Russian Christmas and New Year on the Julien calendar, they fall two weeks after those of us who use the Gregorian calendar, and even later than those celebrating the Jewish holiday versions. A person could keep celebrating the year end holidays for months on end! |

Re: Hny & poe
I agree, Pink Girl!
It is a drizzly January day here ... the perfect Saturday to read and/or watch old movies on tv ... I started a couple of baguette loaves ... a celebration in the making for sure! Plus, Downton Abbey starts tomorrow night! CA |

Re: Hny & poe
Thank you all for being here to help to make it a HNY for me up in the bushclad hills about Perth, Australia, the most remote city in the world. I love the gifts you share of hope, of keeping the faith, of Julienne of Norwich. Peace on Earth begins with peace in each of our hearts, and the task of finding a way to be filled with peace despite looking death in the eye is a Schroedinger's Cat paradox. But you do it, and you help me learn. Thank you
