Important Stuff...5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

<TABLE class=EC_EC_MsoNormalTable style="MARGIN-LEFT: 9pt; WIDTH: 771pt" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=1028 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD style="PADDING-RIGHT: 0in; PADDING-LEFT: 0in; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0in; WIDTH: 771pt; PADDING-TOP: 0in" vAlign=top width=1028>5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.

Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract,
and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes

at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug,
but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT!

(this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from

chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Something about this recipe scares the bejeezus out of me. Like the potential for something to go horribly wrong, like a grenade in the microwave... LOL

sounds really good, can't wait to try it. maybe even for breakfast, and i don't think that i'll be sharing it.

Thanks Ma. You know, I'm always interested in the important
stuff.

Going to make one right now, for breakfast.... only because there's
an egg in it.

I'll let you know how it turned out.

PinkGirl 10-17-2008 06:16 AM

It's cooking right now.

It's good. Tastes just like chocolate cake. It puffed
up really high and then it sank.

Ma, that sounds so good I'm scared to try it.

juanita 10-19-2008 05:22 PM

i had it for breakfast a couple times. didn't have vanilla and used almond extract. and once used cinnamon chips instead of chocolate. that was different, but good.

The only thing that I found strange about this recipe was that chocolate chips were optional...I always thought that chocolate chips were a requirement.

Wow, I want to try that now!! Thanks for your pic PinkieGirl. I thought it would look a lot puffier....How did it taste?
