Having Chemo while doing Cyber Knife?

My onc is thinking of giving me a chemo break during my CK treatments, just to reduce toxicity.

Just curious out there.... have ever done your chemo while undergoing your CK prodecure?

Thank you.

Good question JoJo - my onc and I are in the middle of making the same type of decision...

Well, this is small potatoes, but I did continue Xeloda and Herceptin while undergoing 37 rads to right axilla for lymph node metastasis last fall. I had no complications other than what was to be expected. Hope this helps.

Oh Jojo -
Don't have experience with your question, but I pray that a good answer will make itself known and you will share with us.

What are you having Cyberknifed?? Not something in your brain? Those pesky nodes? Since they have not fully responded to the chemo, guess it is time to go after them with some different ammo.

Hope you are feeling OK and I know you are in great hands.

Please check in Jojo....we want to know what's going on, ok?

I am having my torso PET-ed today - and after that we will decide for certain our next course of action. (PET is to be sure that the only new mets are in the brain and nowhere else)

I believe we are leaning towards CK for my 3 small brain mets... and are leaning towards switching to Tykerb/Xeloda imminently.

JoJo, I found this link about CK that might be of interest to you as well!
