latest scan results..still NED

It's been 2 years since I started my chemo in January, with stage IV, 2 small mets to lungs. My scan results came back yesterday that all is still clear. I was really nervous about this one. I just felt the 2 year thing was a big leap to get over and never thought I would go this long NED. I will now have my scans every 6 months (if I can stand to go that long). My radiologist report did list this huge word that was followed by the words "lung disease". It really freaked me out. Upon "googling" all the words it meant that I had "bronchitis" showing up. I was sick when I did my scans. This was a new radiologist that read my scans and he was much more detailed than the usual guy. Why do they use such alarming terms..lol...sherryg

Sherry, I can only imagine how relieved you must of been to get such good news. CONGRATULATIONS! Two years...way to go. I'm glad the big unknown word they used on your scan turned out to be nothing. I'm like you...I wish they wouldn't do that. I'll keep you in my prayers for continued NED status for years to come. :)Chelee

Sherry,

Fantastic results. Gives lot of hope. My latest scan was written by a lazy radiaologist which is putting me in lot of tension. Always good to recieve a clear an elaborate report.

Wish you conitnuing NED forever.

Congratulations, Sherry! I know the wonderful euphoric feeling after being pronounced NED---just had it last month! I too have a 6-month wait until the next one, but we just have to keep remembering and visualizing the positive feeling! Hugs, Tricia

Good Tears

Oh My Dear Sweet Friend, how this news has brought happy tears to my eyes (and keyboard) when I read it!! I rejoice with you many miles away, Sherry. So on this brisk snow-ladened day in New England I take deep breaths of cold air and wipe my cold, wet eyes. Walking alone I take pleasure knowing I am walking with warm thoughts of my friends news, so I am not that alone. Thanks for sharing the news, we all need this encouragement. What an inspiration you are!! So pleased to call you my friend>>Believe51

Jean 01-18-2008 11:01 AM

Sherry,
So thrilled to hear your wonderful news!
As far as the new rad guy, look at it this way - it is far better to have someone who is very detailed, at least you can relax and know he
did a great job reading the test results...your NED is for sure NED!

Enjoy your good news and celebrate, you deserve it.

Hugs,
Jean
