Flori UPDATE and a MIRACLE...
 

#1. My rash disappeared. I don't know where it went but I don't care. It was not welcome on me.

#2. MIRACLE...My Brain MRI = NED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am still amazed by that Gamma Knife. Granted - the drilling into my head required a lot of anti-panic focus on my part, but all in all it was one of the least invasive cancer treatments I've endured. All I took was a 1mg ativan. In at 7 am and home by 11 am. Faster than my dry cleaning.

#3. When I saw my uber-surgeon today (for the invisible rash exam) he asked if I've had a biopsy of the PET active Sternum mets. He is now throwing necrosis into the mix. How do I know it's not necrosis? Well, I guess I don't. BUT - WHY would necrosis show up as metabolically enhanced on the PET? Wish I had thought to ask that. I did say, well, I'm one person, it's weird having to see a different doctor for each part of me. So who can I see about these mets and the necrosis theory? So, I am seeing the radiation oncologist next week for more info. Meanwhile...

#4. Still searching for TDM1. And...

#5. Will get my triple drip on Wednesday.

News in our world does not get much better that what you just posted.

About your necrosis question. Dying tissue can also have PET activity as showed with my gamma-knifed cerebellar tumor. The second followup MRI showed activity in the old tumor bed that freaked out my brain team. They were sure the tumor was active again. I had a brain PET, which showed enough uptake that they thought tumor was confirmed.
Well, when they opened up my head back there, all they took out was 100% necrotic tissue. This has also happened to Barbara H. and others here with brain mets.

Seems someone else here had necrotic bone tissue in hip, but seems to have been a while ago. Don't know if you can search and find that post.

The scans are just not perfected to the point of distinguishing what is causing the PET uptake in some cases. If you have no other signs of cancer - necrosis could be your nemesis.

Once again you never cease to amaze me! I was out celebrating the sun and St' Patrick's Day (I live in a University town so the bars are packed with sweaty, smiling, beer-chugging, boisterous, green shirted students) at sushi with friends and just got home. I decided to go online before taking a walk and was rewarded by your wonderfully exciting news! Now I may have to celebrate some more in your honor...with green marshmallows, lightly toasted...

Thank you for the good news, dear sister. I will be getting my drip tomorrow also (Navelbine and Herc.) and I'll be thinking of you....345 miles away. I'll try to call you later this eve...but I'm oh-so-happy that you dumped that rash and your brain is NED. As for the necrosis, praying that's all it is. I am not as afraid as I was yesterday about my pending surgery any more. There are so many successful stories now. Thank you, Flori, for providing one more when I needed it the most.
