~Mighty Oak's Follow Up Brain MRI After Gamma Knife~October 24, 2008
 

Please keep us in your prayers tomorrow for Ed's brain MRI. I must say this has been one hell of a journey so far and God are we tired. I must add too, I am more scared than I have ever been since the day we heard the diagnosis.

Negative thinking is usually not my norm but I am not having good feelings about what is happening to him lately. I find myself choking back the tears on a regular basis. Ed has been rather depressed recently and that too is unlike him. And no, this has little to do with the Decadron, I am sure.

We are in need of some special prayers for the MRI tomorrow. Please kick me back into shape so I can remain strong for the upcoming events in this journey. Things are mighty tough right now.

Prayers and more prayers, Marie. I, too, have been a bit knocked down mentally/emotionally since the IMRT to my brain mets in Sept... I often wonder if the treatment (beams) doesn't have a bit of an effect on our brain chemistry for a while...

You have taken Ed's bout with cancer with a lot of grace and aplomb so far. You said his tumor marker was rising, but no specifics that I noticed.

Don't let your "legs" get knocked out from under you. Keep up your stride and you will both get through it.

I rarley comment on this board, but when I read this message I had to. I have followed your husbands battle since the start and pray for both of you all the time. You two are so wonderful and strong. I'm sending you big hugs and prays that things will be fine.

You all have been through so much, it is not fair it never is. I see that your treatment is done in Boston, that is where I was treated so I feel like you are in good hands.

I over here in Lowell, MA not far from you so if you ever need a shoulder just hollar and I will be there.

I love you guys so much that words could never even start to express my feelings. I feel so strong and refreshed today and totally ready for this battle. Whatever comes our way today we already have a plan loaded with ammo and fiest!!

I feel very fortunate to know that in the beginning of this upheaval he had a poor prognosis with organs shutting down, good thing he was in shape to stop this process (50 with organs the age of a 30 yr old). It is 2 years since diagnosis and Ed and I just celebrated our 13th Wedding Anniversary. We are blessed and so very fortunate to have this time together. Sometimes though, this makes me feel like time is running out for us. Quickly I push that aside.

We are ready for war, we are armed and dangerous. Watch out cancer 'cause here we come. And boy do we have a wonderful support team!!!
