Lance Armstrong's Summit in Ohio
 

I just found out i was excepted to the 2nd LAF summit in Ohio in July. They pick 1000 survivors around the nation to attend. Has anyone else from the site been chosen???

Jean, you can get on LiveStrong.com and there is a section to apply for it.You have to answer some questions and they decide who to pick. It would great if some else from our site could attend!

That's awesome news, Michele! How excited you must be. I think springtime hits Ohio in July, so the weather should be nice. Congratulations.

I just got my acceptance!! Yippee. And I qualified for a travel scholarship. It sounds like it will be a very powerful event. I hope I am worthy!

I finally got around to checking my email...I was accepted too....no scholarship, the hubby must make too much...I know that I should have gotten one at what I make on Social Security Disability! Anyway, I am excited about being chosen...Laurie, I hope you get chosen too! THis could be a multi state get together!

Congratulations on getting accepted to Lance's LIVESTRONG summit in Columbus this year. I went to this event with Michele last year in Austin, TX and it was fabulous! We were so inspired and met so many great people and learned so much. Lance had the BEST speakers, including John Kerry & Elizabeth Edwards, the U.S. Surgeon General, Michael Miliken, then we all separated into small groups and learned about advocacy, ways to help other survivors and caregivers, etc. It was so worth attending! I already went last year, but since I'm not far away in Ohio, I might see if I can attend just for Saturday or Sunday--I would love to meet more of you.

So who all is going again??? Brenda, Michelle, Laurie, Me???? I may drive, it seems like it would be about 6-7 hours for me...I'll see, depends on what my chemo situation is! As a warning, you may find out the truth about why they call her 2 beer Brenda!!!!!

Yeah, I am back online. Yes I was also accepted. I am going too. Only a 2 and half hour drive for me!!!! I am not sure about how many nights I will go. I did not get scholarship. I need to send in my fee before May. So excited to meet you all.

Laurie, We will be going on the poor mans ticket, I did not get a scholarship either. I need to send my money in too, it should be a great time, i am so anxious to meet you...I have already had the pleasure of meeting Brenda and Michelle in San Antonio.....

Just checking to see if everyone is still going. If so what days? Did you get the notice that
John McCain is going to be a speaker? so is Stephanie Speilman who I went to high school with.

I will be there with bells on. I fly in on the 24th and out on the 27th. Don't know yet what my hotel arrangements are as I am a scholarship recipient and they haven't told me yet...

I am interested to hear John McCain speak. I can't remember now what "track" I chose, but hopefully some of us will be on the same schedule of 'training'.

I am going to Livestrong as well.... seems like several of us are.

I hope we all can meet each other in person.

Whoever is going, you can private message me and I will be glad to arrange a meeting place so we all can hook-up.

I have registered to go, but don't know for sure as my Taxol treatment is on the 24th which is the first day...and its a 7 hour drive for me, I will know when its gets closer. I will just book a room in case.

Is anyone else besides me attending the summit on a scholarship? If so, we can request to room together! I know I would prefer that over being assigned a room with a stranger!

Let me know, the sooner the better so that we can get our request in.
