Nicola is with the Lord

Dear supporters,

I am so sorry to bear this news as I know how devastating it is to hear that a warrior has lost their battle. I know it was something that was always very difficult for Nikki to hear on the message boards. She had great pride in being called the "Trail Blazer" when she announced here that she would be the first to go on her clinical trial of Lapatinib and Herceptin.

Nicola passed away this past Sunday evening November 18th. She fought till the end and she was tired. Now she is with the Lord and has renewed energy.
I know that she would want all of you to know how much your support meant to her. This was a place where she could vent and say things that she could not say to those closest to her. I have spent most of the day reading her previous posts. I am so thankful that she had a place where she could go and say anything and feel safe. I have not sorted through where she left off on the story of her journey with all of you, but if you have any questions, it would be a comfort to me to provide you with any gaps in information that I can.
God bless all of you warriors on your journey.
Feel free to email me at Advo1@aol.com
Nicola's sister,
Debbie

Thank you Debbie for sharing this sad news with each of us. Yes, as Sheila stated "another angel taken too soon." As you stated so matter of factly Debbie, "now she is at Home with her Lord and has renewed energy." May you and your family find some peace and solace in that.

Please accept my sincere condolences at your loss and may you be comforted in the knowledge that one day you will have a reunion with her in Heaven.

Love & Peace,

Mary Jo

I shed some tears in losing another sister, she was a warrior and we will always remember her.

kimber 11-26-2007 05:29 PM

I am deeply saddened. She was always there to pick someone up when they needed it. Even though she was in a "rough" time herself.

She will be missed. My prayers to you - her family, also to all of us - her other family.

Dear Debbie,

Thank you for letting us know. I was deeply saddened by the news of Nikki's passing. She was a beautiful Soul that shined so brightly on this site for all to see, no matter what. Her words came from the depth of her being and that is so rare and special, as was she. She is missed already. I send my sincerest condolences to you and your family on this sad occasion. Surely she is with God, having passed on with strength and courage to the very end. I would be surprised to hear differently.

I believe death is not the end of our story. Her Spirit has passed on to another realm of being. And one day you will be in one another's arms again. For now, let us all be grateful that she was in our lives, surely wanting more but for now having to accept what has come to be. With love,
Andi

Dear Debbie -
We have been missing Nicola here and asking each other from time to time if she has been heard from. Her silence was truly deafening. I am sad.

Thank you for keeping us posted. She was a valiant fighter and, as you will see in her posts, had much to give here.

Morning Debbie

I am writing in PINK today to honor my Angel friend, she loved to write her posts in pink and that was her signature. When you thought of Nikki the pink post and her wonderful spirit came to mind, what a spectacular friend she was to all the lives she touched!! Wanted to express my deepest sympathies for your sister and our Dearly loved Warrior Nicola (Vamoonrise). She certainly had a sense of humor that she kept vibrant through all of the journey she was on, I especially loved how she would thrive on teasing me constantly. I have been praying for her since the first day I met her here at Her2support and now those prayers will be extended to all that loved her. She surely loved and supported us all here who needed her help on our own journies. Unselfishly she provided us the strength and hope to struggle with our own fights. She is yet another Special Angel looking down upon us and STILL providing us that same strength and hope.

Dear Nicola, I thank you for all of the love, support and understanding. You have made me a better caregiver for my husband, you have empowered me to help him fight this battle. Forever I shall carry a piece of you around in my heart and when needed I shall pull out one of your smiles and gather the strength to trudge forward. Thank you for teaching us how to be that Angel Warrior Nicola, your friendship will remain alive deep in my soul.

We Shall Meet Again In Heaven>>Believe51

PS: One thing she would tease me about was the competition she had with her and myself writing LONG posts!!! So Nicola.....this one's for you Darling!! Love You forever!!!

Debbie,

I cannot begin to tell you how I sorry I am for you, Billy and your wonderful family. Nicola and I both shared that we were "Virginians," however, several hundreds of miles separated us. A couple of months ago, I had some odd symptons, and Nicola candidly shared with me her experiences.

Several posts went a few weeks back inquiring if any of us had heard from Nicola. I emailed Nicola at her AOL address, and she responded. She told me that the family was planning a celebration of her life around the Thanksgiving holidays in NC. I am saddened that she died prematurely of that event. I know, however, that you and your family are still celebrating her beautiful life in the hereafter and Nicola is beaming as usual. I cannot change the past, but I know wish I had taken the time to make that trip to Richmond.

This is very tough for me as she is the first person that I actually had a connection with on this site that I have lost. I feel very priviledged to have gotten to know a little about her. She was such a joy to know. She is person who we would all like to emulate.

God bless, and thank you for sharing the news of her loss.

Louise

Deep sorrow for your loss, Debbie. You and your family have some wonderful memories of Nicola and you can continue to celebrate her life. She also reached out to me....another Virginia gal...... with advise when I thought I was going to have to transfer my care to Richmond. We exchanged several private e mails that gave me support. Prayers for all her family. Hugs, Bonnie

Debbie,

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the passing of your sister Nicola. She was such an inspiration to so many here. No matter what she was going through she still managed to maintain her sense of humor and offer hope and encouragement to so many. Just like so many other women here who participate in clinical trals shows how unselfish she was. Her participation and that of others here in clinical trails lead the way for many of us. Nicola was a very brave warrior during her fight. Now she is no longer in pain and is at peace. My heart is saddened. I will keep you and Nicola's family in my prayers.
