I had an MRI of my neck yesterday to check the bone mets and today the onc told me that the report said "the previously described enhancement at C3 signifigantly improved as compared to 6/6/07." That would be the Tykerb/Xeloda doing it's job! He did say that I have "significant arthritis" in my neck though (which I didn't know about), and that is what is causing my mild but constant neck pain. At least it's not a tumor spot! I will take arthritis anyday over tumor! LOL

What wonderful news!!!!!!!!!!!! I would take arthritis of cancer anyday too. keep up the good work your in my prayers.

Thanks to all for sharing in this stage of happy news. Waiting to schedule a 6 month PET in the next couple of weeks, then colonoscopy and GYN visit. It is a busy month! Our medical life is a full-time affair, huh?

Nancy Dip - yes, yes, yes, - that is part of the hope of Tykerb/Xeloda, it crosses the BBB. Not many b/c chemos do for sure, most are too big a molecule to make the journey. We know for sure that Xeloda and Carbo do. And as far as targeted agents, we know that Tykerb does also, where Herceptin doesn't. But they are working on a smaller molecule Herceptin....

That's excellent news and just what you want to hear. Yeah, the arthritis is doable and I hope you're doing all right. I've had similar aches and pains in the neck and lower back and I'm thin like you are (great photo btw), and I've found, silly as it seems, that Activ-On, with those horrible commercials, really does help when I rub it on those areas. Plus, and I'm not selling anything, but the MonaVie I've been drinking (the Active version with glucosamine) is helping to keep my aches away. I stopped it for five days when I went to Cleveland for a long weekend and I started feeling it again.

Thanks for the suggestion Vicki! Active On? Cool. Yep, I know of it from commercials. I will have to do that. I already take glucosamine for my knees as prescribed by my nutritionist... and I think it helps my neck not hurt quite as much as it would without.

Along with the Cosamin DS, I also take Boswellia, MSM and turmeric, which also offer anti-inflammatory benefits. That, and my Solary Cal-Mag Citrate, and D-3 pretty much does it for me as vitamins go. I've got a pretty good diet I follow, but tweaking it with these supplements seems to help.

I'll let some one wiser explain the signature thing. For me it was a hunt till I found it on the upper left CPS something. That's why I'm not explaining it. I don't know how I did it.

To "make" a signature and profile - go to the top of the page where the yellow bar is and click on User CP, then click on Edit Signature, enter all your info and then click save.
