Broken heart
My 16 year old cat Fritz went to heaven at 5:30 tonight. His doctor came to the house to help him on his way. God Bless Dr. Jane.
He had heart failure and a tumor. My heart is breaking. He was with me through it all. I told him that he could not leave me until I had my last surgery. That was yesterday. He was ready to leave today. He kept his word. So I kept mine to him. So as I sit here with my new soft boobs (finally got the expanders changed out for the silicones) I have never felt so alone. My fiance is wonderful, but there will never be another Fritz and me. How to go on |
It sounds like you had a sweet companion, and it went both ways. So sorry for your loss...pets are wonderful.
|
Oh Kimber I am so sorry for your loss. Pets are just the best, just seem to know what we need when we need it. Fritz will always be chearing you on.......sending good thoughts your way.

I'm so sorry Kimber...
I know EXACTLY how you feel. My Chelsea, was with me through my dx, surgery, chemo, rads and part of Herceptin. She had a tumor, but after all that I went through, I couldn't hear those words again. Finally I took her to the vet and she confirmed that she had..."breast cancer". She was so warm and loving. This spring my son is getting his first puppy. Our friends can never be replaced, but I DO look forward to having a pet around again. Take care and God bless.

Sorry Kimber
Hi Kimber,
I am so sorry to hear about Fritz. I know how heart breaking it is to lose a beloved pet. They are part of the family. His spirit will be with you always. Take care. Sincerely, Liz J. |
(((Kimber))) So sorry to hear about the loss of your dear cat. My faithful little dog, Bailey, died in April at 14 and my heart was broken, too. She was always there for me throughout the cancer ordeal--Pets are so sensitive to your emotions and so loving. We have a new dog now and I love her, too, but she'll never take the place of Bailey...anyway, I think it's great how your cat stayed with you until you were finished with your surgery. You were both lucky to have each other! I know you're hurting, but you will get through this and in time, share your life with another wonderful pet. (If it helps, I read a few good books from the library on coping with the loss of a pet, you might want to check one out. I'll try to think of the titles..)

My cats made it to 19 and 20 years old. When they die it does leave a hole in your heart. There's nothing wrong with how you feel now. I know it does no good now, but eventually time will heal. You'll look back and see Fritz had a good life and remember the good. I'm glad he made it long enough to keep his promise. BB

Sorry Kimber,
I have two cats and two dogs and love them so much. I have lost pets too. It must just add to this difficult time in a painful way. Still thinking about you being so close by. Send me a message sometime when you're feeling better. |
I know how you feel my son and his girlfriend lost their pug at 7 months by a car. We took care of it while they both worked. Never had a pet before that. We were so heart broken as she was so sweet. We got one of our own, Yoda and we love him dearly, but he will never replace Bella. Its like loosing a child! Sending you a healing hug, Sandy

Kimber, I'm a big animal lover, and I know how bad that pain can be when you have to say goodbye. Its almost un-bearable. Its so sad. Just as I was DX last year my 19 year old cat got to the point she couldn't hardly eat, or walk very well...she was ill. I had to have her put to sleep and it about killed me. So my heart really goes out to you. Just when you need them the most. Its so very hard to say goodbye to them.
I am so very sorry to hear about Fritz. I can only imagine how difficult that had to be for you at a time like this. Fritz might be gone...but one thing no one can take away from you is ALL the wonderful & happy memories of him. My heart really goes out to you. I'll have you in my thoughts and prayers. Chelee |
Kimber I'm so sorry for your loss.
My cat basil died from a tumour during my chemo and it broke my heart as he was always with me right through. Please feel glad you had such a wonderful companion and he loved you and had a good life with you. In time the pain will ease and you may feel up to having another pet but we can never replace them. I have other cats but none like Basil and know what you're going through. I'm very sorry. Tricia |
Kimber - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I am a "cat person", too. My 10 year old cat Princess has been there with me through my BC journey. The unconditional love and comfort that pets give is a unique gift from God. Please accept my condolences, and may your wonderful memories of Fritz help you through these sad times.

Kimber,
I am sorry to hear of your loss...our pets are part of our family (sometimes even better than family) they love us no matter what! Know how you feel - remember all the good days you had with your pet and embrace those happy thoughts. Warmly, Jean |
All my sympathy. I've been through it with my dogs. Blessings on your dear, departed Fritz. You might want to check out petloss.com.

Sorry for your loss
I'm very sorry for your loss. I know how it breaks one's heart.
We had to say goodbye to our dear dog Lady (border collie-sheltie mix) on 12/29/2006 two days after my lumpectomy. She was just short of 19 years old and the true light of my life. I still mourn the loss of my dear feline buddy Chubbs a few years ago who was with me for 15 years. Know that Fritz is at peace. Skeetur |
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your loving pet. I lost a cat to cancer about 2 years ago and it was very heartbreaking. I did everything to keep him alive and was despondent when he got so sick that we had to put him to sleep. Pets are so precious and faithful. His spirit will be with you.

sorry to hear about your sweet Fritz - our wonderful animal friends should live as long as we do.

So Sorry About Your Pet
My heart goes out to you over losing your cat. Scooter, my cat was with me all through the hardest part of my bc ordeal and we lost her a few months ago. She was 18 years old. Now my precious black Lab Dollie has a mass in her throat. She's 12 so I know it's not going to be long for her either. It's so sad because they do help us so much when there's no one else to cry with. We don't have to smile or keep up a brave appearance around them and they are so much comfort.

Kimber I replied to your post yesterday and am so sad to tell you I am in the same boat today.
One of my darling Mainecoon's leo was hit by a car and left at the side of the road earlier today. I would'nt have known but for the kindness of a young woman who called me. My two brave daughters carried himhome and buried him in our garden under the tree he loved to climb. I'm heartbroken. My daughter bought me the Mainecoon's last year when I lost my darling basil to cancer during chemo and although thery could never replace Basil I came to love them both but Leo was special. I just wanted you to know I understand and am hurting with you. Tricia |
Kimber,
So sorry to hear about your loss. Like everyone else we too lost a beloved pet...a golden retriever named Connor in April. I still talk to my kids ( 9 & 6 years old) about how Connor is in heaven, chasing bunnies, floating on clouds, eating treats and taking naps. I have to tell you, that the more we talk about it, I have decided that I think that is exactly what happens to our beloved pets. Connor loved all animals....dogs and cats alike. I hope he has warmly welcomed Fritz to heaven, and perhaps they are sharing a fluffy cloud. It takes faith to believe this, but my kids have chosen to believe it, and I have too. It makes the pain so much easier to bear. Thinking of you |
God bless all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has helped me sooooo much to have all of your support.
This really is like a family. . . . . . much love - kim |
Tricia and Kimber
I am so sorry for both of you....we love our pets so much and they are so family to us. I had to have my chocolate lab put down 3 years ago, right when I was going through a recurrence...my lab developed cancer too, in the lymph nodes, which was where my recurrence was...it was awful...back then, the vet wouldn't come to the house...we had to take her there....she hated the vet! I held her while they put her down, one of the hardest things I've ever done...still brings tears to my eyes. To resolve my sadness (and I might say in a grief sticken state) I purchaed 2 black lab sisters that were 8 weeks old...I couldn't choose so I got both....they were so cute! Well now, 3 years later, and several pairs of shoes, rugs, a chair, a sliding patio door and a few chomps of drywall....they are WONDERFUL...over 100# each, but I love them dearly....they even fight like sisters....so through the sadness, may each of you find a rainbow as I did! |
Only another pet owner can understand how devastating the loss of a pet can be. I am so sorry you lost Fritz tonight. Thank goodness he was by your side for all you had to go through though. They are smarter than most think. My dog, Riley never left my side and still doesn't. He shadows me wherever I go. We love our pets but their life spans are so short and it is so hard to lose them. I hope in time you will be able to get another companion who is as dedicated as Fritz was.

The Bible says that the lion will lay down with the lamb so don't try to tell me that we won't meet our pets in heaven!! I can not imagine it will be otherwise. And remember all the fun time they have given us here on earth!!
Love & hugs, Marlys |
Tricia and Kimber
My heart truely goes out to you both. It does not matter if you have had this animal for 1 year or 20 they are part of your family and you life. They touch you ways no human can. Unconditional love ( well my cats somethimes have conditions) but you know what I mean. Please remember that Fritz and Leo and all the others we have and will lose will be waiting for us on the rainbow bridge when it is finally time for us to join them. And they are young and healthy and very happy to see us. Then we cross over the bridge together as a family. |
Hi Kimber!
Oh, how sweet is the time we spend with our fur friends! My little black and white fur friends have been so consoling to me through this past 13 months! I can't imagine how you must feel now. But Fritz will be off to heaven to serve there and wait for you. Thank you God for all the Fritz' in our world. They make our journey so much sweeter! So very sorry you have lost your special pal. ma |
