Good news is great news. However, I think a contributing factor could just be that you could kick back and relax a bit. Lack of stress hormones perhaps.

Usually at work, they want you to take a vacation so you can free your mind and destress. That way you are ready to do your best work. That's what vacation is about and it did do you loads of good. Now that you know it didn't do any harm, use the next days and weeks to really destress and have your body do the work for you by keeping everything in check.

Thanks for sharing the wonderful news.

The 'diet' factor is a curious thing. My 95-year-old Dad drinks a tiny shot of Chinese whisky after dinner during the cold winter days. Often time there's a big piece of 'Ginsen' soaked inside of the bottle. He's a very disciplined person - never overeat, overdrink, nor overspend... :)
