Hey Fellow IBCer, sorry to hear you have to change meds again.

Have you made contact with the MDAnderson IBC Clinic before? Dr. C has over 30 research studies going on.

Alice
Didn't realise Dr C had so many trials going on,hopefully there will be some encouraging results soon.

I haven't heard about Dr. C at MDAnderson... can you tell me more?

Midwest Alice 07-25-2009 02:14 PM

Hey Pam,

He is Dr. Cristofanilli, very, very, good IBC doctor. I started seeing him in January and go every 3 months. He has 175 patients who come to see him from all over the world. He opened the first IBC clinic in the world in 2007.

Vickie h has an appt. with him in September.

Thanks, Alice. This is new to me - I'll google him for more info. I know on this post people have said they travel to different cancer centers. I'm in MN and so far have been very happy with my onc. If I ever felt I wasn't getting good treatment I would like to know more about where else to go and how to go about it. Of course, I have the Mayo Clinic about 2 hrs away, so that might be my 1st try. But I know MD Anderson is highly revered and if this Dr. C is top in the field I'll need to keep informed about that. Is there a long wait to get in to see him?

I go to the chiropractor but not for cancer. I have gone for years, way before I got sick and pretty much have always been there every 4-6 weeks without fail. I have lots of problem areas from years of working with animals and I still am working full time so I continue to go. Certainly if you have problem areas that continue to need adjusting, it is worth considering.

Hey Pam, I might give MDA a call and ask them how long it takes to get an appt. Then you will know and can factor it in to your thinking.

I didn't go to MDAnderson because I wasn't getting good treatment. I am getting excelent locat treatment.

Pm me any time Pam..... sometimes it may take me a while to get back.

Have a great Sunday
