Dr. MaryAnne Marymont, her P.A. (Radiation) and Dr. Muro (Brain Surgeon) will be double checking my results at Northwestern University Hospital. They would like to scan me up here in another month and I'm thinking of going down for the appointment. I will talk to them this week and see what if anything they would do differently.

Oh Barb, How wonderful. I was feeling a bit grumpy this morning, but your news put a smile on my face! It is as if the sun suddenly came out on an otherwise dreary day. I am so happy for you! Necrosis! Isn't it just wonderful! That means the cancer cells have died!

Dear Barb -
Having dealt with brain tumor necrosis myself, I am SO HAPPY that they feel that the scan results are good enough for now and there is not a big push to do an open surgery to make sure.

That is what happened to me and the whole area they excised was necrotic tissue. The tumor bed looked very suspicious and I did have a brain PET, which was inconclusive. The MRI/spec that pattyz mentions is only available in a few places.
