Does anyone know anything about a Lexus SUV hybrid? Thinking of giving up the Derango for the Lexus hybrid. Really need an off-road vehicle for the Big Island.

BTW, my daughter has a Civic hybrid and absolutely loves her car!! She gets like 50mpg and puts on a lot of mileage in So Cal. She said if she could afford ANY kind of car, she would still get the Civic hybrid she loves it so much.

The Lexus is one fine machine, IMHO. There is no comparison between the Durango and the Lexus. I've had 3 RX300's and loved each one.

Right now I'm getting killed on my suv. I have a Ford Excursion with the V10, and it has a 42 gallon tank with a range of about 350 miles per tank. I just can't part with it though because it's a great truck.

Well, the cheapest gas here in north Seattle just broke the $4 mark a couple of days ago. Even with the Safeway discount, their gas has been over $4 for a week, and the lines at Costco are ridiculous.

At least there IS gas. I remember the '70's gas crisis when there were shortages and the gas was still cheap, but in shorter supply. Those hour plus lines to wait your turn to fill up were the pits! Plus to find a station that was open and selling gas was all the neighborhood buzz!

Between that and Ted Bundy, I was ready to move ...
