My closest friend sent me a very encouraging card, and on the inside flap she had written---it was an itsy bitsy teensy weensy yellow uniboob bikini that she wore for the first time that day....I laughed so hard and it still makes me laugh. Humor is the only way I have gotten through this. I have to say that the prosthesis is taking a little while to get used to. Maybe because I only wear it when I go somewhere or if someone is coming over. After a while my chest hurts.

i Was Looking At My Scar Right After Surgery. I Never Did Reconstruction. I Made Up My Mind I Would Make The Best Of Things And Not Have A Pity Party. I Was Still Alive. I Even Did My Mastectomy On An Out Patient Procedure. I Know A Lot Of People Do Not Agree With That, But I Wanted To Be Home In My Own Bed With My Sweet Cat Curled Up Next To Me. I Hope Everything Goes Well For You.

a little joke
Hi Ceese
I read this in one of those "Chicken Soup" books or in the Reader's Digest....... a woman who had a mastectomy was worrying about having her little grand daughter to her house for a sleepover. She decided to just get undressed in front of her as she always had, and see what happened. The little girl looked at her for a few seconds and then said........"grandma, if you're only going to have one boob, why didn't they put it in the middle?" I thought it was cute........ |
Very cute, Pink Girl!! Ceese
