Hello, I will ask for a petscan when I see him next which is i the begining of March. He told me the growth is on the tail of my pancreas, that the last catscan the see some inflamation there but know the is a growth there, and for my piece of mid I am going to demand a pet scan thanks for you help and I will let you know how I make out with everything. Thanks again it means the world to me and helps me get through my day!

Best wishes. I am praying that the growth is a cyst.

Karen,
Be sure to ask for a PET/CT scan, not just a PET scan. The combined PET & CT scan (which they sometimes call fused scans) is less prone to provide false positives than the plain PET scan. |
I will ask for a Pet/CT Scan. The more I think about this the more I need to know just what it actually is on my pancreas. Thank you to all!

just more support
Karen, I'm thinking so many good thoughts for you. Glad doxil seemed to go okay (any reminder of adriamycin is stinky though-ugh). I fully support you in asking for the PET/CT combination. Remember they are the experts, but you are the boss of your health, treatment, diagnostics, etc.

Kareneg -- My friend who is getting doxil for liver C was at support group last night (he's had trouble with fluid retention in his legs). He said he also gets a fever after his doxil infusion. His doctor isn't concerned. Just one more side effect to be aware of.
