The ultimate compliment is to have others say that you were an inspiration. That is what Esther was!!! I can't thank her enough for serving this site as an inspiration to continue to take life head on, remaining active and pushing cancer to the background.

Esther...thank you for taking the time to share your adventures and giving us the courage to live life more fully. I will miss you.

I will miss Esther, and I will never ever forget her. Even though she has passed, I feel like she was never defeated by this disease. She was so alive...and will always be so in my memory.

Chrisy, Your every word is echoed in my heart. Said so perfectly, I will just add my love to send to sweet Esther's dear family.

She was a very special lady and is surely a glorious angel now. Never to be forgotton... Her beautiful face is locked in my heart and I will carry it with me always...

I am just sick at heart to hear of Esther's passing - she is a wise spirit full of adventure - one who will be sorely missed - some times it seems sickening and unjust when a person who is so present to others can just pass on in what seems like a blink. God speed Esther.

I'm so saddened by this news. She was very uplifting and I loved those photos of her adventures . Truly an amazing woman. She is at peace now and pain free.

so mad/hurt....and then I remembered Esther's message

I was so devastated by Esther's passing, felt really, really sad, hurt, mad. Then I remembered how she never let it get the best of her and she kept on living life. Thought I'd repost one of my favorite of her posts. I believe this was posted within the last year...she truly lived the concept of joie de vivre!

From Esther:

Stage 4 and still living life!!!
I thought you might like to see a couple of pictures from our extreme jungle adventure in Puerto Vallarta a couple of weeks ago. Remember this is me 5 years into stage 4 B.C. with mets to bones, liver and brain.

The first picture is me rappeling 120 ft down a waterfall, the second we were crossing a river on a wire.

Miss her, too ...

Dear Terri -
Thanks for the photos. I think that is how Esther wanted to be remembered. She was not "here" on her down days. She was gathering strength for her future plans. Her way was to rather share joy with the group.

Rendi - no one seems to have posted anything on a memorial or service for Esther. Would not surprise me if she wanted her ashes cast somewhere she loved in nature. Check your local papers?

I'm very sorry to hear about Esther. My prayers to her family and friends.
