I made a decision on what I am going to do after a good nights rest. I called the office of a highly recommended Dr. Kathy Miller at IU last night after work to see about setting up an appointment with her. They called back today, and I have an appt scheduled February 5th in the afternoon to see her.

A couple of things; I liked the idea that she is a woman, and my PS is with IU (he is awesome), it is a teaching hospital with trials too. However, I will not make a decision to change ONC'S until I meet with her. If she looks through all my records which she is getting and validates my treatment now maybe I will stay where I am. If she validates, communicates, and I feel comfortable with her then I will make the switch. I do not want to switch just because my ONC does not seem to communicate as well as I like but if he is a good doctor that is most important. The only way I will know is getting a 2nd opinion, and I do need validation with all of this. Now, I feel better today because a Doctor highly recommended from a person on this board whom I really respect her opinion, so I think I am getting the best 2nd opinion available. :)

Bonnie, heck no the center does not have a therapist but if they would have I would have seen her plenty by now. :) My therapist's are the people on this forum with a wide variety of thoughts helping me work through a decision, helping with my meltdowns, and everyone has been there, done that, and still doing it and the highest educated person could never give me what this forum does.

Linn, what a difference a day makes! You sound like a new person. One with a plan. That is such a burden lifted. And i always feel better when i make a decision and take back control of the situation. You will have so much more clarity after this second opinion consultation
