I was diagnosed 12 years ago, in October 2006. Went in for a breast reduction, came out with breast cancer. My plastic surgeon discovered the tumour while doing the reduction. Had a clean mammogram and ultrasound 3 months before. Docs tell me that having that reduction surgery probably saved my life.

Happy to have found this wonderful site, it was my lifeline for many years while I was undergoing treatment.

Wow, thank you for posting on how you caught your BC! I have some friends considering breast reduction surgery and it just shows you never know what is lurking in dense breast tissue. Glad you are here 12 years later! I am celebrating 8 years this October - God is good :)

Hello! So many good stories of hope here, and yours is just another reminder that mammograms are not always enough to catch a fast-moving tumor.

Glad you are living to a ripe, old age!

A dozen under your belt! Here's to dozens more! I had forgotten, or perhaps never knew, how you found your cancer. Than God you opted for that reduction! Glad you are thriving and surviving!
