Hmmm, well a very interesting article. By way of disclosure, I am no fan of Geisinger. That said, my initial thought upon reading this is that it is a great tool to inform people, hopefully in time to make changes that may avert or lessen their genetic propensity toward a given disease. However, the nagging question is who will receive this information? How will insurance companies react should this information be available to them? I am not just reserving this line of thinking to health insurance providers, but also to life insurance companies. Do we truly trust that our DNA sequencing will remain private?
