I started back on Kadcyla in February and have just been approved through the Merck Patient Access program for Keytruda (a PD-1 immunotherapy) - I am supposed to get this combo on my next cycle. I am just a little nervous about long term effects of Keytruda on my thyroid and feel I need to do a little more research. I would appreciate any comments from anyone who has any experience or thoughts on this. Thanks.

Hi,
No personal experience but an acquaintance of mine took Keytruda for non-small cell lung cancer (stage 3b) just last month. A palpable lymph node in her neck disappeared and her CEA test results diminished from 20 to 8. She's not on any other chemo/drugs.
I know that her side effects were minimal. Good luck to you if you decide to go forward with Keytruda. I hope it provides the kind of results for you that they are publicizing.

Hi Janis,
Thanks so much for this feedback. I will be starting Keytruda tomorrow. I always seem to get shortness of breath while on Kadcyla and I have that now. Tomorrow, I get both of them together. Any updates on your friend are appreciated.
Best wishes
Fern

Hi Fern,
I haven't heard anything else, sorry to say. I will definitely let you know if I hear something. I wish you success with adding Keytruda to your regimen. Everything I've heard has been really positive with other cancers.
Best
Janis
