Femera question

I took tamoxifen for 5 years from age 41-46, last spring I started on femera. I hadn't had a period for 6 years...I think my period just started again. Is that even possible??? I noticed my breast was sore then I started getting cramps and then stated bleeding. Seeing Dr. Worried about uterine cancer....anybody else experience this???

Try searching on "Femara breakthrough bleeding" though I found most content is fertility related. It sounds like breakthrough bleeding is common with this drug. One doc suggested it to me to deal with infertility years ago but I never used it.

This happened to me when I went on Arimidex. Like you, I was 46 years old at the time. I wasn't deemed truly in menopause although, like you, I hadn't been getting my period. I had my ovaries removed to be menopausal and then went back on Arimidex. These drugs can stimulate the ovaries If you are not really in menopause. We thought I was (me and my onc) but I wasn't and I don't think you are either.
