Just routine, right? I was surprised to get a random call from my onco today asking me to come in tomorrow for a blood draw to check my CBC. I'm on TCH and just had my 2nd treatment on Dec. 21st.

Just looking for reassurance, or truth anyway.

Oh, and by the way, the thought of ice chips makes me want to vomit now....:)

Thanks friends.

My oncologist wanted me to get bloodwork done EVERY week while I was going through chemo. It's to monitor your counts, don't worry. I did push back a little, but that's me.

You made me remember ;-). You're a third of the way through.

I was on a different protocol than you but it was standard procedure for them to do blood work before every treatment to be sure it was okay for me to get the treatment. I would get the blood work done but ask why they're doing it now but I wouldn't over-stress about it, unless it becomes absolutely necessary to do so. :)

I got a cbc before every treatment and again one week afterwards. Routine. No worries.

Same here - I always had blood test before chemo - including the CBC - which includes all kinds of stuff like white blood count, red blood count, etc. Sounds routine to me - Stay strong - before you know it this crazy train ride will be over - Pam

Yup, blood tests were routine...and even when treatment was over...lots and lots of blood work
