I had my annual mammogram today. Something new - they have added tomography to the standard views. This is where they have adapted the machine to have the "camera" head move in an arc taking 6 or 7 sliced views (both from above and the side) so they can really see inside the tissues. They expect to have fewer false positives/questionable results with this new mode.
This is at my cancer center. I know my sister had her annual mammo at another highly respected breast center recently and they did not have that available yet.
Any one else running into this new technique?
