Ouch! Shingles can be so painful. Good idea to get some painkillers. I got the Shingles shot and the doctor who gave it to me said it has a 50% chance of preventing shingles. Keeping my fingers crossed that I'm one of the 50%.

So far it isn't too bad ... I'll be taking a couple of Advil PM in a few and heading to bed. But it's nice to know I have the big guns just in case. :)

I'm curious about your history. What stage were you? What was your ER/PR status? What type of treatment did you get that worked so well for you?

Hi friends.

Stage IIIa. Infiltrating ductal. 5.2 cm tumor. Estrogen negative. Her2. 9/21 nodes positive for cancer. Mastectomy. Prophylactic on the other. 4 rounds adriamycin/cytoxine. 4 taxoteres. 25 hits of radiation. 52 weekly herceptins.
. Prophylactic hysterectomy.

Wow, that is great! It is so nice to hear from folks like you who are surviving and thriving many, many years after having cancer. I remember when I was first diagnosed. I looked at the stats of surviving 5 years and found they were not good. You were diagnosed as stage 3a so your stats weren't good either. It is wonderful that you have blown the stats out of the water!
