I'm NED

Five years with cancer, 3 years with mets, 7 different chemos, a liver resection, SBRT radiation, sepsis and cdiff, and Perjeta and Herceptin.....and Perjeta/Herceptin did it.

I had a PET last August that showed the cancer was stable, and I had a PET this month that shows no signs of disease. It is due to the miracle drug, perjeta.

If it can happen to me, it can happen to you!

I never thought it would, but here I am. NED.

In a year, if I'm still NED, he may even take me off the Herceptin/Perjeta. There is no evidence of what happens with long-term use - although it's an easy drug to take it does act on your cells and who knows? That makes me happy and nervous at the same time.

I'm very happy and I wish the same for you all.

I am left with some pain from all the surgeries and treatments I've had, but I can certainly live with that! I feel like a miracle happened.

I'm new here and am using Perjeta as a first-line treatment. It has obliterated my tumor and also reduced my swollen nodes back to normal. I feel so lucky to have joined this "club" with Perjeta as an option.

CoolBreeze, such wonderful news can't help but be excited and celebrate with you. I too am on Perjeta/ Herceptin combo thanks to it being recently approved for early stage Her 2+ cancers larger than 2 cm or with positive lymph nodes along with taxotere and carboplatin in the neoadjuvant setting. So much hope and encouragement posted here for us all to reach NED status. I too have had a terrific response so far. All that remains of the tumor in my breast is the tissue marker left behind from the biopsy. The positive lymph node which had reduced in size by half is stable. I am on treatment #4 of 6 planned. Taking time to rejoice with others is great medicine!! I pray you remain well for many years to come. God bless you.

Kiri did great with herceptin and perjeta as well-- it kept her clear systemically for a year. Unfortunately, her brain mets have returned and progressed since her WBR, so we're on a different track now with a phase 1 trial of an experimental drug, ARRY-380. She had to drop perjeta. :-( It's a real miracle drug; I pray it works for you for many many years!!
