Met with reconstructive surgeon yesterday (she spent about an hour with me!) and it looks like I am leaning toward a bmx with immediate reconstruction. I currently have implants, which she will take out, add that size to the amount of tissue taken out, and I get 2 immediate implants at time of mastectomy.

I was a bit surprised b/c the bs was hinting the reconstructive surgeon would do expanders, which seems to be the running theme looking through everyone's posts. I guess since skin is stretched a bit from implants already, I don't smoke, no diabetes, no radiation planned, and happy with size currently, I am a good candidate for this. Obviously, she said expanders would be the Plan B, in case at time of surgery it looks like area would need time to heal better or skin couldn't handle it.

Anyone have any experience with this or other questions I should be asking?
Thanks~

I would ask if they are going to have to remove any skin/tissue from another area of your body. Expanders are a pain but everything else was left intact!!
