Darita wrote in another thread:

"I am having surgery to debulk and remove the t 8 lesion and fluid on the 29th. Neuro symptoms are rapidly getting worse. with no quick IT drug available this is what My family and medical team have decided to do. Cool thing is it will be done in Phoenix at Barrows Neurological institute, world class neuro drs and some really good technology and inpatient neuro rehab. since I am already his patient was able to get in very quick. The fluid has pushed the lesion more toward the right side laminectomy style. Best case coming out weak, which I already am, but should stop the growth and stop further nerve damage. Then go back to IT/IV herceptin

Peace and Prayers to all
I will update when they let me have my electronics back!!!!!"

Wanted to prevent Darita's news and treatment decision from getting lost in the shuffle.

Prayers and wishing you best blessings for this surgery.

Hello Stephanie,
wow didn't know about this, what does it mean actually. How do you feel about it all? Are you happy with the decision? Do you feel it will relieve the pain? Is there a cancer progression involved?
thinking and worrying about you
love sarah

Dear Sarah -
This is not MY surgery. I brought this news over from another thread where Darita had posted.

Just did a little editing to try and make that clearer. Thanks for your concern anyway! Divert that to Dchips as she is really in need of a good outcome.

Stephanie thank you for bringing post upfront. This has been one of the hardest decisions, I have had to make since being diagnosed in 01/06 at stage 4. I know that God is not done with me yet.

Thank you to all who like me just lurk and sometimes have time to post. I have a notepad full of people in my life that I pray for and cry over their passing, including so many here on this board. I share this web/board site with other patients and nursing staff just about everywhere you go, even in costco when you run into another breast cancer person. This web site over the years have helped me get through all the years of treatment with resources for the Nurse, Wife mother, daughter sides of me. Posts are printed and shared with my incredible Oncology team.

Peace Prayers and Love to all

Thank you Darita
