I recently saw a post on FB about a woman with ovarian cancer seeking compassionate care of BioMarin. She'd been denied. She was told if they made an exception for her, blah, blah...

A flood of calls went into Rep Huffman's office in Texas.

Supporters started an aggressive lobbying campaign and a dear friend posted a petition on CHANGE.ORG

I signed that petition last month. I, and apparently, many others, found her story compelling.

In cancer drug battle, both sides appeal to ethics - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/28/health/compassionate-drug-use/)

And the pharmaceutical company has changed it's mind.

As Lani's thread INTERESTING ARTICLE FROM NYT indicates...

We must never give up. Sometimes, we must find a way around...
