Kiri's NED!!

Just met with her oncologist this morning for the results of her six-month scans. No evidence of cancer anywhere, lesions in liver gone, lymph and lungs clear, sclerosis on spine unchanged and possibly benign. We are dancing on air. She'll drop the taxol now & continue on herceptin & perjeta every 3 weeks. Wishing similar good fortune for every one of you!

That is the best news! So happy that she can drop the Taxol. And even more happy that she gets protection from both Herceptin and Perjeta. Whippee!

Great news! I couldn't be more happy for your family.

I am now on perjeta and herceptin with no chemo now myself - for different reasons (bone marrow can't tolerate chemo) but the end-results is quite similar - after SBRT, my liver mets are disappearing, even though I've been off chemo 3 months. Still decreasing enhancements. :)

It's a marathon, not a sprint. I'm glad she gets a break to rest, refuel and feel good enough when it's time to get back in the game. :) And, let's hope that time is not for many years.

dear zoe - i am so thrilled for you. i can't even begin to imagine how emotional you must feel at this news. i have been so distracted by a heavy and stressful workload that i never even saw your announcement and felt so bad i did not respond sooner. this is the best news you could possibly have asked for and dared not even hope for - and here it is! i am so happy that kiara's treatment can now become a bit less demanding and she can rest for a while (or in her case, explode with activity). what a wonderful and unexpected thing to read - i am so happy i came back here last night. the last time i came back here, it resulted in meeting YOU. so i am doubly grateful. love, valerie
