Hello all --
I did 6 rounds of Perjeta, starting after 2 rounds of TCH. The onc thought he would add two more after the Taxotere was done to make it 6 treatments with Perjeta.
Shortly after, I went off to see my 2nd opinion guy, and he asked me why I was off the Perjeta? So I asked about it, and the nurse checked and saw that my initial insurance approval was for 12 rounds!!
So I ended up missing two treatments of the Perjeta and getting the Herceptin only, and then they started me back on a loading dose, so now I will get it until I have the 12 and then try to get more after that. The 2nd opinion guy said to stay on it as long as I can.
So this tells me when we're on a new drug our onc and nurses might not know the protocols for it, so it's good to keep an eye on things!
