I finished Herceptin on January 9th and I find that if I have a busy day, it just wipes me out for days. I use to be able to bounce back the next day but now, good Lord....it takes me 3 days to recover.
Does one recover energy wise? Does it take long or am I doomed to feel pooped?

Be sure to have your blood count checked. You've had a major surgery and tough treatment and need to start/resume your old schedule slowly.

Walking 30 minutes a day does wonders. It will boost your endorphin and make you 'feel' more energetic.

How long it takes varies greatly but Jackie has given you excellent advice.

During my almost 1 year Herceptin break, I definitely noticed improved energy levels. I think it really kicked in about the second month after being off the "H".

The other thing I noticed, was that for the first time since I started on Herceptin back in 2001, my finger nails actually got thicker and were able to grow beyond the length of my nail bed. They are of course toast now, being back on both the taxotere and Herceptin.

The biggest improvement of all has been my ejection fraction. I had a muga back in August, just before going back on the Herceptin, and my EJ was at 70%, and the one I just had last week was 71%! This is a big difference, as I usually ran in the high 50's.

I also ditto Jackie's advice about the excerise.

Hoping you see improvement soon!
