I finished up my whole brain radiation this week, and am now dealing with the steroid taper, which is a bit of a strange ride but Im dealing with it.
I had a CT of the chest, abdomen and pelvis this week to check on my liver mets, and my scan came out completely clean. I was so surprised. So apparently the Herceptin is still working for me in the body, as the one small lesion I had in my liver was not visualized and no new lesions.
Now we wait six weeks to get a scan of the brain to see how the whole brain radiation has done, and they will Cyberknife anything that is left. Will also start Tykerb at that time, we are thinking, for brain protection.
I feel blessed that the Herceptin is still working for me, and I just wanted to share the good news and thank you all for the prayers and support. ((hugs)) I've had a hard time with the WBR and steroids, and you have all been such a big help.
