Dear Ladies,

The biopsy an blood results are back and this coming Monday(17th) Iwill receive my first dose of the shinogi and if I react well to this Japonese drug on phase 1b then this is to become my new Unicorn. I say unicorn as oppose to Trojan horse because it carries a lot of my dreams..

The results are good I think for a phase 1a. A small half of patients are showing some sort of responses (at escalating dose) with one complete response from a Her2 BC patient (out of 19 patients trialled) with 2pts on it over> 12 months. I am now on the phase 1b (i.e we know the dose)

I am always so tired now and in turn I find it quite isolating, lucky I have the sweetest and funniest dog in the world with me. So I pray that this give me a break, a long break, a long long break... Please send me good words and wishes and healing thoughts that this will work for me because sometimes it's hard to keep my hopes up and I always used to have limited faith in inhibitors.. I want to be proven so very wrong.

I see for you now a pink unicorn with purple sparkles crushing your cancer with its tiny, sharp hooves, then galloping around doing a unicorn happy dance that makes you laugh.

Sending you huge positive wishes FOB for this drug trial. It's great that you are able to participate in the trial - I certainly know nothing about this drug, so I'll be interested in reading of your experience.

I think having a dog in your life is one of the most wonderful things and your little munchkin looks adorable. When I'm feeling a bit low, I try and find some good comedy on TV, and you Poms have the best comedians and comedies. My favourites are Rob Bryden and David Mitchell at the moment I think, but there are so many......

Best wishes, Marie

Dear K -
You are another leader on this board with your throrough research and "listening to the Dalai Lama" attitude.

I, too, am hoping you do well on this - in every way!

Dear Beans,
I love that your Unicorn fills you with HOPE. I love hope - it carries and soothes and gives us promise and a sense of destiny. And there you are; filled with hope. When your faith in hope starts to wane, remember your Her2 sisters here; from all around the world just holding you up. You can rest because we have your back. Blessings and more hope to you dear FOB.
Love Kim from CT

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement.

So far so good the side effects to dates are mild and in fact I am now feeling less tired than I was for most of December. Could be a vast combination of things such as the removal of my tumours blocking airways, the chemicals from the general anest. leaving my body.. or my unicorn! or maybe all of them

Best wishes for the new year 2013 to everyone
