Can one take cold meds while on Tamoxifen?

I would call my doc, but my entire city has shut down because of dear old Sandy. I have an awful cold and would love to take some Mucinex.

Don't take Mucinex DM. Dextromethorphan and tamoxifen are both substrates of CYP2D6. Mucinex D should be okay, as should regular Mucinex.
