Hi everyone
Hope today finds you happy and rested. Just wanted to share a bit of news with my friends that would truly understand. Saw the Plastic Surgeon and other than being in excruciating pain (radiation effects on right muscles are tightening up chest, axilla and arm) she has cleared me from care. I opted not to do the nipple recon at this time, going for tattoos of bamm-bamm and pebbles sometime next year. She said I can treat the tightness with massage and therapy.
But the awesome news is I completed my year of Herceptin Treatment and other than an echo every 6 months and a visit to an Onc every 4 months for 2 years I am done. Almost cried when I left infusion room. Not sure if dr is correct or not but she claims with all my "success" over the past year and a half I have a 15% of recurrence rate. I know there are no guarantees but I sure hope she is right. So now I am hoping to begin regaining some of my energy and stamina. Not to mention trying to find a part time job since I lost the one I had just started because treatment took up too much time.
I feel truly blessed that I have had all of you to complain to and look to for advice through this journey and I know we will all continue to lift each other up during good and bad times in the years to come.
Thank you very much for always being there for me..
Tracy
