End of Arimidex -- Side Effects???

After "stalking" for six years, this is my first post!! I just finished my last dose of arimidex and wondered if anyone has noticed any side effects when they stopped taking? Thank you so much.

Welcome rebzeb! I just finished a year of arimidex and in a week I will be switching to aromasin because the joint pain and swelling are to great for me. (not to mention the hair loss) Hope your not having any of that awful pain! There are several threads on arimidex side effects here just put in the search option. I believe that if you have side effects it goes away once
you stop it. Perhaps you can fill in your sig. and some one may be able to help if you have any side effects? As I'm sure you have noticed there is plenty of knowledge, support and help here. Peace

Thanks for the response. So far I have been very blessed and have tolerated all of my treatments with little side effects, including Arimidex. Little joint pain, biggest problem has been hot flashes but even those have not been intolerable. Just noticed they seem to be coming more frequently now that I've stopped taking it and wondered if that might be why.

From what I've read the side effects become less and less. I would love to come off arimidix but, at my five year mark, my oncologist ask me to stay on it another five years. My next appointment is soon and I plan to talk with her again about the side effects.

Wondering the same thing myself! I was on tamoxifen for 2 years, then switched to arimidex for 5. My last pill was 10 days ago. I didn't even think about side effects from withdrawl. Hmm, maybe that is where my dizziness is coming from!
