Are You On T-DM1 With Rising Markers But Clean Scans

A few of us have been been trying to figure out why our CEA rises ever so slightly while on T-DM1, but get clean scans and brain MRIs. Has this happened in your experience? if so, what is your drug combination?

Karen, to my knowledge CEA is a marker that can increase for many reasons.
Do they test CA15.3 and HER2serum? They test the 3 in my trial.
It may be interesting because you could then see if it is a general trend or if it is just CEA. (knowing that markers are only markers and not always reliable).

Yes, we do these tests, and they sometimes go in the same direction, and sometimes they go opposite of each other. In my case, however, CEA has always been an indicator of things in general. But with the new drugs, we are still investigation HOW they work, etc. I have spoken to a few people on T-DM1 whose markers are going up but have clean scans, and one woman who has never notched up at all. A lot of information out there to be had, right?
