Everolimus (Affinitor) and white count

Hello,

For those of you who are on Everolimus, how does it affect your white count, especially if you have been on it for multiple months? Many thanks.

I just had my first labs since starting Afinitor yesterday, but haven't picked up the results yet. I haven't heard that it really effects the whites for most. I have heard about a huge drop in platelets though. that is what I am worried about. I have had a couple of nose bleeds.

I was in it in addition to herceptin and vinorelbine for 7 months - I ended up neutropenia after about 4 weeks. After a dose reduction of both the everolimus and the vinorelbine I maintained neutrophil counts that were between 1 and 1.8. I was using acupuncture to help maintain my levels and gradually they rose from low 1s to high 1s - still pretty low by normal standards but high enough for treatment and immunity.
