Good morning all. I lost a friend 3 days ago to breast cancer. Last June as I celebrated my 6 year cancerversary, she was nearing her 1 year mark. She did not know what type of BC she had. All she knew was that she was 'triple negative', and she didn't really know what that meant either. In a week she learned that the shoulder pain she had been plagued with for weeks was bone mets. I am so sad for the loss of a friend to this dreadful disease.
As I get to celebrate another Mother's Day I was thinking about how grateful I am for my life. And this Support Group where I learned all about being an advocate for myself. It was the first place I found when I got the diagnosis, ER+ PR+ Her2+++. At the time, my first doctor basically told me that Her2+ was a 'very poor prognosis'. I soon learned that was not to be the case for me.
Thank you Her2 pioneers, researchers, doctors, brave folks involved in trials...leading the way in breast cancer treatment.
Happy Mother's Day
