View Full Version : Update on Tomo Radiation for me

Just a quick update on the radiation for my superclav icular nodes that were pressing on the brachial plexis nerve....I am OVER HALF WAY DONE!!! Only 10 more to go and 18 behind me...I am still making the daily trip to Chicago, but have it down to a system now, and come home a take a nap for an hour or so. Dont think I will ever get used to the MASK, or the sounds of ants tap dancing while I get radiated....the good news is I am pain free! The nodes are almost gone, and I am sure I dont have a wrinkle left in my face due to the tightness of the mask! With fatigue, a rad burn and a sore throat being the worse side effects, I am just hoping this treatment will keep these nodes in check for a while!

Yeah, the mask sucks. I know from brain met experience in 2008. But looks like it's doing the trick. Pain free and shrinking nodules.

I just had my mask made yesterday and wanted to thank you for bravely posting the pics of yours. It helped me fully know what they were talking about!

Yay! You're so close to done and doing an amazing job of being able to drive yourself there!

Sheila,
I am so glad you are closer to the end of the rads than the beginning.
Thinking about you all the time and doing the fist pump that you will be done with this soon.
If I were there I would make you warm tea with honey for your throat. And drive you so you could nap.
Hugs,
Maureen

Sheila, I'm so glad your not in pain! Have you ever had Burt's Bees Throat Losenges? They have 35% honey in them and they work really well for me! It is the only one that I use. nothing else has worked.

Vicky, I sure hope you keep us posted on your treatment!

Gods blessings to all, you are all in my prayers.

Sheila, so happy to hear you are doing well. That spiderwoman mask you wear is the things movies are made of but looks very uncomfortable! I told you that department was high tech! Congrats on getting through this and I am counting down the days with you...so you can kick back and enjoy this beautiful weather. Hugs to you...you are an inspiration.

Just thinking of you Sheila & we are all counting down the days with you.
Hope you're seeing those mets being blasted away by the bright, healing light of the rads. Because they ARE!

Sending you love, light, and anything at all that you need to get through these last few rounds.
I hope you have nice restful plans for the weeks and days following rads.
You definitely deserve it!

Much hugs~
