Hey everyone. I have been asked to give the presentation at our local, very small town, kick-off for "Relay For Life." I've never done this before, and standing in front of a crowd to tell "my story," is a bit intimidating. I will probably know everyone there, but I've never really shared this before. It does not need to be very long, just about my journey with breast cancer. I would love to highlight some of your experiences if that is fine with you. Of course, it would be an anonymous reference to you. Have any of you done this before? I would certainly appreciate suggestions.

Just pretend you are talking to kids, you'll be fine! Good luck!

What a nice honor! I know you will speak with passion because this is someting you feel strongly about. You'll be great.
Keep the faith.

Of course you can talk about me anonymously. How nice of you to ask.

You'll do great. Just practice your talk in front of a mirror and, if possible, in front of one or two other people. Saying it out loud will help you gain confidence.

Let us know how it goes!

Knock 'em dead, Chemteach! Break a leg! Win one for the gipper! Honor your Her2 sisters (and brothers, didn't forget ya Duga). Wow 'em with your wit!

Thank you for speaking out. It is most brave of you and I, for one, am honored that you will highlight the brave struggles of our compatriots on this site! Bless you!

Thank you for the encouragement. I will speak about you, and I will say your names, and I will tell about those ahead of us whose contributions have made a difference. I will speak about research needed to stop this terrible disease, and I will encourage my students to become the scientists that will one day find a cure. I will tell my story which is nothing compared to many of you, but it is a story that may inspire someone.
