Hi HER-2ers,

I watched this documentary (http://www.forksoverknives.com/) last night and highly recommend it. It's available on Netflix.

The documentary talks about the advantages of a whole-foods, plant-based diet. The studies talked about seem scientifically sound and the examples of the people they discuss are surely something to give us pause.

I've been trying to follow this diet but now that I've seen the movie, I'll follow it more closely. Although I have to admit that I won't be able to give up my sashimi (which I love) and my occasional cheese. I have no problem giving up red meat but dairy (and flour and sugar in all the foods we eat) is more challenging.

Has anyone else seen this? Have you purchased their books?

I'd love to hear from those of you that are following a vegan diet and how you were able to make the switch.

Thanks!!!

I read the book and saw the DVD. I am on the diet and
it is hard. I do have moments when I slip but I have lost
10 lbs. on Arimidex which I had not been able to do in five years. I feel better. I do not eat anything that had
a mother. Beef, pork, chicken etc.

Does that include fish as well?

I choose to eat fish but a limited amount because of
the omega 3 benefits but all wild caught and not farm
raised.

Hi Marcia
I followed an organic vegan diet for a year following my diagnosis Giving up meat was not a problem but fish was harder. Must say it was challenging but doable! I really felt very good on it.Probably the hardest thing was going without dairy as I loved cheese milk and butter and would crave cheese on toast!! I now eat small amounts of lamb only because it seems to be the only thing that keeps my red bc good and I also have fish. I hardly have any dairy now as i've found that cheese and milk give me really bad indigestion.
Hope this helps
Ellie
