Hip hip horaay!
10 years ago today
Had a life saving mastectomy
I didn't know how lucky I'd be

I didn't know I'd see life so different
Full of awe and gratitude
Loving the trees
Birds and flowers

Happy to have the gift of breath
Know how precious it is
Living life with faith
Staying away from dis ease and fear

No longer allowing limitations to swamp me
No longer being defined by disease
I live life and cheer
Hip hip
Hooooraaaaay!


Dx 11/01 at age 38
Lefts side Mastectomy
Never had reconstruction
Stage 3b (9cm by 6cm by 4cm)
16 nodes involved (16 nodes removed)
ER/PR-
HER2+++
Treatment - AC chemo and Taxol and herceptin and continued weekly treatments of herceptin for 1 year.
Radiation 35 rounds

You give us all hope. Congratulations. I hope Denise sees this post. What an inspiration. Thanks for sharing and letting us alll know that there is life after cancer. 10 years. WOW. Don't see many of those since herceptin is so new. Hopefully we will continue to see more and more. You were so young at diagnosis, I can't even imagine what you felt at that time but 10 years later you are strong, beautiful and HEALTHY. Amen. Praise God. May you have many many many more years.
