what day do you count your cancer free or NED? I am confused. I had my surgery on jan 29, 2010 but the PET scan showed cancer in 2 of my nodes in my neck, inoperaable, but Praise God the cheno got the cancer. My next PET, after completing my chemo, showed NED so when will my cancerversary be and when do i count NED?

Candle, There was a post early in my arrival here. They said the anniversary count down starts the day you are diag. because that is the day you started the fight to survive and that is what I am sticking with. It can not just be for being need because unfortunately as we know from all the warriors here not everyone gets to be ned., or become ned and then it returns. I believe it is about surviving the battle against the cancer and we have not won that battle just yet. (but soon!). Gods blessings to you my Sister.

Thanks Nancy... cool I will hit my 2 yrs in January! seems unreal that it has been that long. Life is so getting back to normal. It's like you can just put all this out of your mind and 'almost' forget it happened - no more chemo, radiation is done, seeing oncologist every 6 months--- but then it never goes away and while I enjoy life it is still very scary..the unknown of that dreaded disease. But Life is good and I am so glad to be alive!
