Friday I went to my oncologist for the standard "how u doin" appt prior to each chemo. My next, and fourth out of six, chemo is this Thursday. Scheduled to start taxotere and herceptin. Will have three rounds of those two together, then I will continue herceptin by itself for a total of one year herceptin.

He says "Good news for you!! A few days ago the Government announced they will extend the 2500.00 dollar nupogen treatment that has to accompany taxotere (you inject yourself with nupogen for ten days following chemo) for free to all those who do not pay into private Extended Health Care packages. I immediately ran downstairs and filled out all the forms for you and sent them off in time for you to receive the nupogen with your first taxotere."

So Ontario has led the way for the other provinces. How lucky can I be to get this cancer at this time rather than earlier, or to have only discovered it in Stage Three...in time for this great break. We are dog walkers so we don't have an employer-related extended health care program.

As Pray, (Nancy) says, "God is good all the time!"

Just wanted to let you know that the correct link for your blog is:

http://www.norascancerblog.blogspot.com/

(You need to delete the apostrophe in your name for the link to work.)

And congratulations on getting the Neupogen. Being a dog walker when you also have to worry about every single germ would be a nightmare.

P.S. I'm very fond of dogs, but walking in winter is not my forte, so I have five cats (and a turtle) instead.
