Ive been fighting the cancer with balance, and now Im starting meds for diabetes. Im now also DX w/ diabetes. (every female in thirties in my family has diabetes) I dont drink soda or have sugar...tea, and healthy food.
I have lost control of everything though. My hair even fell out last night but nothing has changed with meds yet. I wasnt able to get meds had to wait for someone to get them for me. One of feet is so swollen that I cant even wear my shoes (even w/lace off) The ONC put me on the water pill which again havent started yet.
Im lost complely. Any advice?
I really dont understand if my body isnt taking the diphen/atrop( diarea stopper) which has worked great stopping frequent bthrm breaks. It doesnt even seem like Ive taken any to help. Im so tired but living in the bthrm today.
Anything? No meds have changed till tomorrow its weird my hair fell out just out of blue.

IM TERRIFIED!!! Are these the end signs

I'm sure things will get better once your diabetes and fluid retention meds take effect. have no suggestion re diarrrhoea but I'm sure your doctor will. Sorry about your hair but many of us are bald so don't feel alone. One step at a time to feeling a bit better. Please don't lose heart. Thinking of you

Hang in there. Don't give up. First of all I hope you are seeing a specialist in diabeties. Once you get the proper diabeties medicines and they have a chance to start working maybe things will start to get better. The diuretic might take a few days to start working too. The diabeties specialist can refer you to a nutritionist to help you plan a good diet plan that will be good for both diabeties and cancer. The diabeties specialist and the oncologist should work together to help you manage both health problems.
The first time a person looses hair is tramatic, but lets look at the up side. No more fussing with the hair in the morning. Showers and baths become alot easier, because a persons doesn't have to shampoo the hair.
However you should wear a wig or a hat when going outside either for warmth or to prevent sunburn.
Since you are also a cancer patient the American Cancer Society can provide a free wig for the hair loss. Give your local American Cancer Society office a call and ask about that. They can usually make an appointment for you to choose a nice wig.
You might also be able to buy a few cute hats or scarfs from a local store or discount center. You can have a different look without much work everyday if you want.
Take good care of yourself and keep going.

Hezzy,

Be sure to drink plenty of clear juice and fluid such as Gaterade to prevent dehydration.

You can also cook some plain rice soup (half cup of rice with 2-3 cups of water if you have a rice cooker. Otherwise, add more water to the pot) Because starches can be dissolved by the enzymes in our mouth water, you can at least get in some needed calories before getting the proper medicine to treat your diarrhea. Be sure to call your oncology nurse, he/she should be able to give you some good advice.
