Going camping for 2 nights and forgot my Tamoxifen

Hey there! It's not really my area of expertise, but my gut feeling is that you'll be fine. I'm sure the experts will chime in here, but I wouldn't worry too much. Just enjoy your time camping and get back on track when you return. Try to relax and have a good time. You deserve it.

Well, I feel compelled to disclose that I am NOT a doctor before dispensing my advise, HOWEVER, I did play doctor once when I was 6, but I digress....

Anyway, a few missed doses of the old cancer cocktail will not harm you. I know this because my onc. had me take a few days off to try to ascertain the etiology of a wicked migraine. She told me that a holiday of a couple of weeks would not be deleterious in any way, so rest easy and enjoy the mosquito bites. Have a s'more for me!

I will make the same disclaimer as Laurel! And then add that I think you will be fine. I too was given a vacation once between switching AIs and the onc said no worries.
Laurel mentioned mosquito bites and actually, that could be worrisome for you if you are prone to lymphedema having had nodes removed. Protect you arms from sunburn and bites.

Tamoxifen is active in the body for about 3 weeks. Even if it wasn't - no big deal. Enjoy

Thank you so much for your replies! We were on our way to the camping site when I realized I had forgotten my Tamoxifen. I exclaimed out loud and my husband was ready to turn back. I then typed this message on my iPhone and called the cancer center which told me it would be no problem. I then thought about stopping at a Walgreens nearby and was able to get a 2-pill supply for the weekend in 15min.

When I got back in the car, my sweet 9-year-old said that she'd rather pitch the tent in
the dark and go home to get my medicine than let me
go without it. I love my family so very much.

In any case, we had a blast. Lots of bug bites but thankfully somehow they got me
in my ankles rather than my arm.
